Alfanar commissions Hail 2 power plant Extension III ahead of schedule
Alfanar Construction has successfully completed the commissioning of the first two GT Units at Hail-2 power plant – Extension III project six weeks ahead of the schedule. The units were inaugurated in the presence of the Executive President of Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) Ali Saleh Al Barrak.
The SEC head was accompanied by the Vice President for Engineering & Projects Saleh Al Sehaibani and the VP for Generation–O&M Fuad AlShuraibi. Hail 2 power plant – Extension III adds approximately 400 MW to the grid of the Hail region.

Abdullah Al Hamad, Construction Division Manager of Alfanar, said, “The completion of these units ahead of the scheduled date by six weeks is the result of well-coordinated hard work between the teams of Alfanar and SEC. Last year, the Hail-2 Extension-II project, consisting of Units 7 & 8 were also completed in a record period of 12 months, reinstating the position of Alfanar as a trusted fast track deliverer of critical power projects.”
