DEWA awards $19.6-mn worth substations contract
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has awarded a contract to a local company to implement 600 pocket substations worth $19.6 million (Dh 72 million). The 11/0.4 kilovolt pocket substations will have a transmission capacity of 1,000 kilovolts per ampere and will be used in several power network projects in Dubai.
“The scope of the contract includes the design, manufacturing, testing, and delivery of 600 substations. These substations are at the top of our acquisition agenda for the current year, being instrumental in the execution of many ongoing projects in Dubai,” said H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
