Jordan has shortlisted Russia’s Atomstroyexport, Canada’s AECL and a consortium of France’s Areva and Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to build the country’s first nuclear reactor, The National reported.

“We will ask them to make some kind of adjustment for the reactors due to the Fukushima accident,” said Dr Abdulhalim Wreikat, a commissioner at the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission was reported to have said.

As MEGAWHAT earlier reported, the plant will be built in Majdal, nearly 60 km north of the Kingdom’s capital, Amman.
